Introduction to Weekly Opportunities to Pause and Process with Debra Wallace

Lately, I’ve been feeling called to show up a little more honestly and a little less “polished.” There’s so much change happening, both in the world and in my own life, and I know I’m not the only one feeling it. Even with all my training and experience, I’m still a human with a nervous system that gets overwhelmed. Instead of pushing through or having all the answers, I wanted to slow down, name what’s hard, and create space to pause and breathe together.

Trauma happens when life comes at us too much, too fast, and without a safe place to process it. When we don’t have room to express and make sense of what we’re experiencing, those experiences get stored in the body and often show up later as stress, illness, or conflict. This is why pausing is so important. Creating even small moments to breathe, notice, and listen to ourselves helps the nervous system feel safer and more regulated. These practices aren’t about fixing anything; they’re about compassion, connection, and meeting ourselves exactly where we are.
