Positive Reframe on getting sick to having a health expression and an opportunity to boost TLC and rest. Naturally, more health expressions as the season changes especially into colder, wet months.
As an MS in human development and trauma specialist, the body keeps the score, thus more vulnerable when under stress, negative and positive have big health expressions in line with a physical and intellectual growth spurt. The body is exerting energy elsewhere in the system and signaling needs more TLC and rest.
Rest and Digest: Your parasympathetic nervous system is a network of nerves that relaxes your body after periods of stress or danger. It also helps run life-sustaining processes, like digestion, during times when you feel safe and relaxed.
Integration: the process of linking differentiated parts our nervous system together in a new flexible, coherent, stable connections.
Give yourself time to connect to mind, body and spirit, listen to and reflect on what you need more or less of in your life.
If you don’t make time for your wellness, you will be forced to make time for your illness.

For kids and partners, it is a time to be nurtured and taken care of, we are biologically wired to be in relationship, time to connect and bond. I encourage parents to slow down and give more TLC to themselves when a child or partner is home with a health expression.
As a therapist for 25 years, clients often report being cared for when sick or injured as their more favorable memories and sometimes the only memories of being nurtured by their parents. We can unconsciously create physical symptoms to get our emotional needs met.
